We all need to hydrate, and with summer here, there is nothing better than an ice-cold drink. Klean Kanteen has created a water bottle that will keep your cold beverages cold for up to 46 hours, and I got to try it out (you can also check out my review of Klean Kanteen Insulated TKCanister Set & TKWide 64 oz Bottle).

I love iced coffee in the summer, and I often make my own at home to take with me, so I am excited to have something stylish, just the right size, and that will keep my drink cold for a long time. I also carry water wherever I go, so this is just right for my needs.

Let’s take a more in-depth look.

First Impressions

The water bottle looks great. I had not specified a color when the water bottle was offered to me, and I ended up with the Blue Tint finish.

The light blue is perfect for iced drinks and definitely has a summer aesthetic. I was pleased with what I received. The water bottle also has a matte finish covering the stainless steel, and that gives an understated elegance.

There are included instructions, and they are handy for when you need to take apart the lid to clean it, but the operation of the bottle itself was extremely straightforward and intuitive. By spinning the top, the silicon straw popped up, and when I unscrewed the lid, I found that the main body of the straw was stainless steel, as was the interior. By swiveling the top, the straw appears and disappears, and I can see how this will be useful both in keeping the straw clean and undamaged.

Overall, the water bottle looks extremely durable, definitely the most durable water bottle that I have owned, and it feels like something that I will have and use for a long time, if not forever.

I like the look and feel of this water bottle, and it is a storage solution that I will use.

  • Capacity: 16 oz
  • Weight: 13.3 oz
  • Size: 8.74” x 3”
  • Opening; 2.6”
  • Thermals: 46 hours for iced drinks

Pretty much standard size for a water bottle, and a little heavier than a plastic one, but not by much, and definitely on the lighter side for a stainless steel water bottle.

The one thing that I like is that you can order other caps on the website. There are multiple straw caps, wide caps, chug caps, and insulated caps that fit with this water bottle, giving you plenty of options for customization.

Stainless Steel

You are keeping drinks inside, so you want them to be safe—what better way to do that than with 18/8 food-grade stainless steel. Not only is the stainless steel durable and won’t stain, but it also does not impart any flavor to what you are drinking.

Chip-Resistant Klean Coat™

A powder coat finish covers the stainless steel and not only gives a stylish look but a chip-resistant finish too. When you pick up the water bottle, that finish also gives you a little more grip when compared to a standard brushed stainless steel coating and adds an extra layer of durability. The water bottle comes in three powder coat finishes: Blue Tint, Purple Potion, and Shale Black.

TK Closure Leak-Proof Lid

The Climate Lock™ keeps the contents ice-cold for up to 46 hours, and this is because of the internal thread closure that locks the lid on tight. Because you can twist the cap to hide the straw, no cold is released that way either.

Swivel Loop

The metal loop on the top swivels to either lock in place or act as a handle for the water bottle. This gives you another way to carry the water bottle or clip it to a belt or backpack.

Built-In Straw

When you twist the cap, the straw pops out. The top of the straw, the part that protrudes out the top of the cap is silicon (that makes it flexible enough to be folded down and hidden), and the main body of the straw is stainless steel. The straw has a nice mouthfeel, and the bottom of the straw reaches down to the bottom of the bottle so that you get all of your drink.

Easy Clean

The water bottle is dishwasher safe and easy to wash by hand. The lid twists off, and then the lid and straw come apart into 5 pieces, letting you get into the places where dirt can accumulate. The instructions are easy to follow, and I managed to take the lid and straw apart in less than a minute.

BPA Free

BPA can cause diseases, but the water bottle is 100% BPA-free.

Most of the water bottle is stainless steel, and that is backed by the Strong as Steel guarantee. If you have any problems with the water bottle, Klean Kanteen will do their best to make it right.

Who Is This For?

This water bottle is for everyone.

Even if you are only looking for a basic water bottle to use for just water, this is an ideal choice. Sure, it costs a little more than the ones that you might pick up at the dollar store, but you are paying for a water bottle that is going to last forever and one that won’t taste or smell funky after repeated use.

If you are looking for something to keep drinks cold, then this the best that I have used. You can keep iced drinks cold for up to 46 hours, and that is way more than I need. If I can keep my beverages cold over the course of a day, I am happy.

I can see this water bottle equally at home in an office for someone who needs to stay hydrated and on a mountainside with hikers. If you need to keep drinks cold or just contained, this is a great water bottle.

Final Thoughts

If you have read this far, then you probably know that I love this water bottle. Not only is the design great, but the functionality is exceptional too. I use a water bottle on a daily basis for water and iced coffee, and this is going to be my new go-to water bottle (I will be throwing out the plastic one that does not smell too good anymore).

With 46 hours of iced drink time, this is an impressive water bottle that is well worth the investment.
